Gift Registry
You can "register" at RTP for your wedding, milestone birthday, or other special occasion. This alternative to a traditional gift registry lets you express a commitment to improving the quality of life for low-income communities. Contact Jen Wootten if you want guidance or support in asking your friends and family to make gifts to RTP in lieu of tangible presents.

Audited financial statements for RTP are available upon request (215.568.5044).

TIME & TALENT

RTP is 1,500 volunteers strong supported by a very small team of professionals and a dedicated Board of Directors. Are you willing to give some of your most precious asset (time) for a good cause?

Learn more about becoming involved in our program at the program level:

  • Skilled Volunteer
  • Project Leader
  • Team Leader
  • Hospitality Crew Member
  • General Volunteer

Everyone has something to contribute and RTP is fortunate whenever someone lends his or her particular expertise to a project. Individuals and student teams have undertaken projects ranging from updating our homeowner resource manual to a research-based study on how to attract more skilled volunteers. See the descriptions of our committees and contact Jen Wootten if you are interested in learning about specific behind-the-scenes projects or click here to join our growing ranks of volunteers, and let us know what special skills and interests you have.

TOOLS

Besides roofing, RTP's largest investments are in the supplies, materials, and tools needed for the repair projects. If you represent a manufacturer or supplier, let us know so that we can determine (if and) how to put your product to work immediately. Contact Jen Wootten, Administrator and Program Coordinator.

TALK

RTP is well known in the neighborhoods in which we've worked over the years. Too many times, however, we hear “I've never heard of Rebuilding Together Philadelphia before.” You can help build RTP's visibility by talking us up wherever you go. Point people to the website so that they can learn more about our mission and work. Share your experiences with them so they have a sense of the powerful impact that comes from connecting volunteers to homeowners in need. Become part of our on-line communities on Facebook and LinkedIn, or follow us on Twitter. Join our ambassador network by contacting Jen Wootten, Administrator and Program Coordinator.

TREASURY

RTP relies on volunteers' generous gifts of time and energy, but cannot put the volunteers to work without your generous financial gift (fully tax-deductible) to help pay for materials and services.  Every dollar you give will generate $5 worth of repair services.

We need to raise $395,250 to leverage volunteer efforts in 2010-2011. Consider the following levels of gifts:

  • $5,000 or more provides a higher level of support both to the organization as well as to the tools and supplies needed for projects. Please let us know if you are interested in this level of commitment and we will work with you in order to shape how to put your investment to good use.
  • $3,000 supports the repairs for an entire house
  • $2,000 provides a homeowner with a new roof
  • $1,000 replaces six windows
  • $500 subsidizes a major plumbing repair
  • $250 replaces a water heater, flue pipe and leaking drain lines
  • $100 fixes basement steps
  • $50 replaces a door lock or installs two handrails in a two-story home

BUILD A LEGACY

To make a gift of any kind to Rebuilding Together Philadelphia is an act of generosity. To make a long-term gift—one derived from the work of a lifetime—is to make a commitment beyond measure. Building a legacy for RTP is about making thoughtful gifts, large and small, to underpin RTP's future ability to revitalize low-income communities. As RTP enters its second generation of existence, we ask you to reflect on how you can help us build on the past we inherited from the founders of the organization as well as positively shape the future we are borrowing from our children.

THE FOUNDERS CIRCLE

The Founders Circle has been established to honor individuals who have given $25,000 or more, cumulatively, since April 2005 in combined program and endowment giving. Many thanks to the following members for their generosity and far sighted support of RTP:

  • Robert Bellinger
  • Daniel A. Schryer

ENDOWMENT

RTP's endowment was established in April 2005 to generate additional monies to support roofing and other projects that directly affect low-income homeowners. The endowment is invested and the principal will not be invaded. Income derived from the investment will be used to support homeowners in need. After initial transfers from reserves to endowment, the RTP endowment has grown over time in two ways: 1) Through gifts given in honor of someone's birthday, wedding or anniversary or in memory of a loved one 2) Through gifts made directly to the endowment by those who wish to support, specifically, RTP's sustainability. Your gift to RTP's endowment will help you affect low-income communities for generations to come.

PLANNED GIVING

By making a bequest or another kind of "planned gift" to RTP you would leave behind a lasting legacy and serve as a model to others. Please consider including RTP in your estate planning in recognition that this organization is aligned with your values and that you know we will be good stewards of your hard-won dollars.

Please contact Carrie Rathmann at 215.888.9975 or carrie@rebuildingphilly.org for more information on making a gift to RTP.
