| Thank you again for your loyalty during the Maxwell House Drops of Good on-line voting campaign. When we say “we won!” we truly mean “we.” The Philadelphia region (not to mention friends in Maryland, Virginia, Australia, New Zealand, etc.) was behind this campaign big time! Thanks to you, not only did we win one of the five $50,000 grants, but also we spread the word of our mission and work, fueling future projects for the community. |
Now that we’ve won the Maxwell House Drops of Good on-line voting campaign, the work begins. Play hooky from the office on (Monday) August 15 and/or (Tuesday) August 16 to help with improvements for CEC (Community Education Center) in West Philly. We also need volunteers on Sunday, August 14. All skills are welcome. Learn more about volunteer activities and register here. |
CEC is housed in an old Quaker meetinghouse, and has loads of space to be a thriving incubator for the arts and community. The building also is calling out for the loving hands and sweat equity of RTP volunteers. Several projects will make a significant impact on CEC’s activities: refurbishing the studio dance floor, building a permanent box office, repairing and “greening” the roof, and sprucing up rooms for auditions, rehearsals and artist support. |
